A1 – ST KILDA, VIC
The development consist of commercial office space at ground level, basement carparking and a mixture of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments to the upper levels. The site’s geometry facilitates two longitudinal forms that reflect the built footprints of adjoining sites. The building is addressing the predominant view from the intersection of St Kilda and Alma road. The west facade concept is a lot more expressive using a geometric composition of protruding balcony elements. The horizontal spandrel concept connects the balconies and façade into an overall composition. The building interface on the east is more ordered and responds to the orthogonal geometry of street grids and existing buildings.
